Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE I have decided to sell my unique one of a kind lot of genuine vintage US military watches from WW2, Korea, and Vietnam. Each piece is in fantastic condition. Rarely have you seen a grouping of military pieces of this quality and condition assembled together. I have accumulated and restored them over a 25 year period with all original parts. If you’re a collector then you’ll appreciate what is presented. Up for sale is beautiful, fully functional, serviced, Hamilton Model 23 chronograph pocket watch from 1944. 13,700 were made that year. I purchased it from the son of the original owner many years ago who used it while in the US Navy. The owner said his father served in the Navy until the 1950’s. Maybe it was used in a Navy Model IV octant? I don’t have the provenance to say for sure. Gorgeous dial and hand set, nicely aged, which show no signs of wear or degradation. New glass crystal was installed. A little bit of brassing to the case but overall a fantastic example with wonderful patina. There’s some small wear to the outer edge of the case back that was up against the bale around the crown. Over the years of use before me, the bale rubbed against that portion of the case back. The Keystone base metal case back is marked AN 5742-1 MFR’S PART NO. 37297 SERIAL NO. H-4646 HAMILTON WATCH CO. Inside the case back is marked 483766. The 19 jewel movement is extra clean, robust, and ticks loud and strong like a Sherman tank! The flyback chronograph feature works perfectly. Nice and crisp. What makes this extra special, is the rare, new old stock, perfect, in the original government packaging, rubber shock absorber and leather fob with buckle! You can even view it in your TM 9-1575 War Department Technical Manual. Here is one, unused, paired with the pocket watch. How cool is that! I have never seen another one for sale. I think the fob might be made of pig skin. I had the pocket watch serviced about 20 years ago with a new mainspring. Rarely if ever used, mostly displayed, I would recommend a fresh routine service since the oils are most likely dry. Here is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own a complete set, used in the Navy, Model 23 military pocket watch with original, unworn case protector and fob! A great combination of preowned great looking condition and functionality. An awesome addition to your collection. All photos are untouched and taken in natural light coming from the right side of the photo. Please examine the enlarged photos and video (available to watch on desktop computers) carefully as they are an accurate representation of the preowned condition. Please excuse any glare or dust on the crystal. I do my best to be as accurate and definitely honest as possible. Please feel free to ask any questions or request further photos. I have a 100% feedback as a seller. Shipped Priority Mail. Rates are exact from the United States Post Office. There are NO surcharges. It will be well packed, protected and shipped fast. I ship internationally as part of the eBay Global Shipping Program. Thank you for taking the time!
