Description: Original WW2 BATTLE OF BRITAIN dated AIR MINISTRY METEOROLOGICAL OFFICE map for use in WEATHER PLOTTING for RAF operations. A rare double sided weather mapping sheet simply entitled "FORM 2242" which would not normally have been in the possession of aircrews. The meteorological data would have been plotted by specialist Air Ministry staff for higher ranking officers at RAF airbases and used in the day to day planning of Air Operations etc. This example was printed in October 1940 during the Battle of Britain and has never been used. With Britain in the centre, it provides good scope for recording data as far as the Mediterranean, and allows plenty of coverage of the Atlantic where much of Britain's weather originates. In great condition, with one side having a few light marks and the other being more heavily soiled (see photos). Please see my other WW2 (and WW1) maps, documents, photos etc. (Seller's Ref - CWH1222 / 2)
