"Jochen" is his nickname. Born in 1915 into a military family in Berlin, he admired his father, who was an army officer, and in 1934, at the age of 19, he volunteered for the SS Special Forces and was selected to enter the SS Officer Academy, and after graduating, he was commissioned as an SS Second Lieutenant. In 1945, he fought against the Red Army from Hungary to Austria, but surrendered to the US forces at the end of the war and disarmed. After serving his 11 and a half year sentence, he was released on parole in December 1956 and lived in hiding with his family in France. However, in 1976, he was discovered by a French Communist Party activist and his identity was revealed, and he was ordered by the French government to leave the country before the Paris Festival on July 14th.
