It provides precise tuning to broadcast stations for clear, uninterrupted sound. It ensures the highest level of sound quality and a range of connectivity options, including a phono hookup for your turntable. NOTES:1. All controls cleaned and checked2. Dial bulbs replaced including signal strength meter3. Defective Components replaced as required4. Frequenncy response and power output tested -- Power output into 8 Ohms at 2 kHz, one channel driven, is approximately 9 W RMS per channel5. Power supply capacitance increased by more than a factor of 3 over stock which greatly improves dynamic power.6. AM and FM tuners alighned and tweaked. Amazing good mono sensitiviity for AM and FM, and good stereo sensitivuity (MPX) for FM for a budget priced receiver7. New speaker protection fuses (2A) installed on the rear panel8. Inside and outside of the receiver cleaned9. Bass control knob was missing, and was replaced with a suitable one (see our pictures)10. Phono pre-amp and headphone jack tested. Phono pre-amp sounded quite nice11. One of the rubber feet is shorter than the other three, so felt pads were used to match the height Overall, a nice small receiver that was too nice to waste. It has a Sanyo amplifier model rated at 10W/Ch RMS max, so 9 W/ch power output is about right. Tuner is amazing good for a budget priced receiver. We tested this receiver with our NHT VT-2 test towers, and the receiver would not power them well before the power supply upgrade. After the power supply upgrade, this receiver was able to drive those speakers decently well.
