Description: You are bidding on a custom print of The Old Course, St. Andrews Links course layout. The Old Course originally consisted of twenty-two holes, eleven out and eleven in. On completing a hole, the player teed up his ball within two club lengths of the previous hole, using a handful of sand scooped out from the hole to form a tee. In 1764, the Society of St. Andrews Golfers, which later became the Royal and Ancient Golf Club, decided that some holes were too short and combined them. This reduced the course to eighteen holes and created what became the standard round of golf throughout the world. Needless to say.. this great course has withstood players from Jones to Palmer to Nicklaus to Watson to Faldo to Ballesteros to Woods and will soon test them again in an Open. This print is an actual rendering done by A. MacKenzie in 1924 of the course layout and it is 23" x 10-1/2" Custom Framing is avail for this size 23" x 11" +$390 + s/h and allow 2 weeks for its completion The map can also be reduced to 17" x 11" and framing is also avail in this size . a 1-1/2" English Cherry or Blackwood frame is +$125 +. s/h Questions....please ask before you bid S/H will be $10 in the USA only otherwise will be billed as required This item is offered by Vintage Golf Course Maps Also VGCM has created a 2022 Calendar which is available @$23 per Calendar.. it features 12 Vintage Golf Course Maps and each and every PGA Tour event plus all the majors if you would like one please contact us and we will invoice thru PayPal
