Description: The 1910 Acme Carbon Iron Original With Charcoal Grate. In David’s iron reference book “ Irons by Irons” on page 58 he states “ this is a hard to find iron”. The top which releases at the back by means of a revolving latch left soft to reveal a unique two prong anchor at the front. Also while many of the Acme irons are missing their internal charcoal grate this one has it so it is complete. Both the latch on the lid and the revolving damper on the rear of the iron operates smoothly. It has a nice old hardwood handle. The top of the iron is deeply embossed “The Acme carbon iron Pat. March 5, 1910. Entire iron is in very good condition.
