Description: SCARCE 1 STAR RARE GRADE 525 VINTAGE ROCKFORD 21J OPEN FACE RAILROAD POCKET WATCH~KEEPS TIME. Item Is Pre-Owned; Item Is Sold "AS IS"; Shipped USPS Ground Advantage. Signature Confirmation will be required for this item. Offered for inclusion in your collection is this scarce, 1 star rare, Rockford, model 525 pocket watch manufactured in 1902. The Fahy's gold filled case is in fair shape with finish wear around the rim of both lids as well as minor nicks to the case's edge. The floral and manor house design on the rear lid is faded but remains discernable with close inspection. While the crystal has no obvious issues, the double sunk porcelain dial shows evidence of hairlines and repair. Yet irrespective of the foregoing, it is the signed Rockford 525, 21 jewel, 3/4 plate, adjusted 5 position, lever set movement which makes this timepiece so desirable to collectors. A mere 1400 total production of these rare gilt inscribed, gold center wheel, railroad grade movements were produced. Currently the watch winds, sets and keeps good time although due to it's age and lack of service history one hundred percent accuracy is not guaranteed, nor should it be expected. If optimal timekeeping is required a cleaning and adjustment is recommended. Please review all the pictures as they represent far more accurately the items condition than any verbal description that I can provide.
