Description: This is a rare larger size Early American Sample that was all hand stitched in 1846, it has the initials SC at the bottom. This is the scene of Joseph Introducing His Father to Pharaoh...the main body of the work is needlepoint and the lettering is in cross-stitch. This is in excellent condition with the original glass and the walnut wood frame. There is minor damage to the frame on the lower right, but no other issues. This is the fabric nailed to a stretcher frame with a fine piece of linen behind it and then nailed into the frame. I placed the cardboard on the back to keep the piece in good condition. Guaranteed authentic and antique. This measures overall on the frame 31-1/2" X 31-3/4" and the image / needlework measures 24-1/2" X 25".
