Description: Additional Information from InnerSleeve Product Description This rather odd DVD release was cobbled together from two previously released Lou Reed concert videos -- seven songs on Lou Reed: Live! originally appeared on the 1983 release A Night With Lou Reed, and another seven were drawn from the 2004 DVD Lou Reed: Spanish Fly -- Live In Spain. While A Night With Lou Reed was reissued on DVD in 2007, the excerpts here were clearly drawn from the VHS release, and while both A Night With Lou Reed and Spanish Fly were both released in the full-frame aspect ratio of 1.33:1, for this release the image has been stretched to fit a 1:85:1 widescreen format, leaving the visuals distorted, while additional visual noise is visible in this transfer. The image is letterboxed on conventional televisions and enhanced for 16x9 playback on widescreen monitors. The audio has been mastered in Dolby Digital Stereo, and the quality for the Spanish Fly performances is comparable with the original release, while the Night With Lou Reed tracks reveal the flaws of the VHS source materials. All the songs are in English, with no subtitles or multiple language options. The disc closes with what may or may not be considered a "bonus," a clip from the 1998 PBS documentary Lou Reed: Rock and Roll Heart, though the footage seems to have been pulled at random and seems more confusing than enlightening in this context. With A Night With Lou Reed and Spanish Fly still readily available on DVD with superior visual quality, fans are advised to pick up one or the other and leave the shoddy looking Lou Reed: Live! on the shelf.
