Description: This stunning, one of a kind, bronze sculpture was created by noted African artist Koli Awudu Ouedraogo. Created using the lost wax technique, this bronze statue is a beautiful representation of two women holding a book, perhaps singing, in the tradition of African culture. Kofi creates his art at the National Center of Craft Industry and Art in Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso, West Africa. This government supported center promotes local artists and is a very important part of their economy and livelihood. The artist Kofi uses a lost wax technique where he first carves the forms in beeswax then casts them in bronze. Each one of his creations is one of a kind. Read more about the artist and his works on kofispace.blogspot.com. The sculpture is approximately 10 1/2 inches high and 2 1/2 inches at the base. It was acquired directly from the artist at the Tucson Gem and Mineral show in Tucson, AZ. Please see photos for details.
