Burroughs was an American naturalist and nature essayist, active in the conservation movement in the United States. He was born on the family farm in the Catskill Mountains, near Roxbury in Delaware County, New York. As a child he spent many hours on the slopes of the Catskills (from Wikipedia). The book contains 132 pages of John Burroughs' autobiography of childhood. Then, it contains 112 pages of recollections of John Burroughs by his son, Julian Burroughs. This was John Burroughs' last book. The book is very legible and solid: a fascinating, antique, 1922 book. The publisher was a well-known New York book publisher of the 1920's.
