It is a direct replacement cable with only 1 small modification at the transmission bracket. It is the same length - (108 inches for the 1997) & the same eyelets that snap on under the dash and at transmission lever. Average time to replace for is 2 hours for simple applications. Some more complicated applications can take up to 5 hours. We think the construction of this cable is better than the original.
