Description: Here is a set of 4 wood coasters, handcrafted from a tree that was burned by the devastating, June 30, 2013, Yarnell Hill Fire in Arizona, that took the lives of 19 firefighters, destroyed over 100 buildings and desecrated nearly 8,700 acres of beautiful high-desert chaparral. We have salvaged the trees that were burned on our property, creating them into mementos, reminding us that nature has a mind of its own and to always keep defensible space around us. These unique bits of the, "Historical Fire," can be used as coasters, or to display any number of your favorite items or collectibles. They are about 5” x 4”, 5/8” thick, and will vary somewhat in size as they are cut from the branch. On one side they are branded: "YARNELL HILL FIRE AZ 6-30-13." The cracks in the wood were caused by the fire's extreme heat drying the tree so quickly, a natural part of the burn process and they may continue to crack over time. A clear finish has been applied to protect the wood and enhance its natural beauty. A certificate of authenticity is included. Please refer to the photos for the characteristics of these beautiful pieces. (Any item displayed with the coasters is to show how they can be used, and is NOT included.) Shipping is by USPS in the US only. Taxes may apply.
