Description: This is a possible F.X. Tourte stick with later mounts. The adjuster is very old and button is of ivory. The frog much later. The stick is probably from 1825. This model is seen as #90 in the latest Paul Childs book on FXT. His earlier work on the same bow maker shows this model at #33. It takes many hundreds of years to oxidize Pernambuco wood like this. The entire bow from beak to nipple is heavily oxidized. The weight is 52 grams as seen. The length is 72 cm or 72.5 from tip to nipple. Selling as speculative bow and sold as is. When I bought the bow, it had been retrieved from a house in northern France by an antiques dealer. Willing to sell at a slightly lesser price if bought direct from 'James Banicki Violins' Essex Junction, Vermont.
