Description: Lovely oval platter manufactured by the Canonsburg Pottery Company on the Citation shape (matches Canonsburg Larkspur) which has a picture of a cannon on the back of the plate which was used from the 1930's to 1976 when the plant closed. The design on the front is a pretty pattern of pink tulip like flowers, blue ferns and gray leaves. The platter measures almost 14" long (13.75") by 11 5/8" wide and has two tabs or flat rims on each end which allows a person to lift and carry the platter with meat or turkey on it to or from the table with ease. There are no gold or platinum trim lines. This decal was used on the same Canonsburg pottery shape with platinum trim lines which was named Larkspur. I do not know if this was given another name but would go well with that platter. Marked Oven Proof and the Hallmark of Quality, Canonsburg, U.S.A. on the back. A matching single flower decal was also used on a marked Royal Monarch First Quality Pottery Original Warranted Plat (platinum) and Gold Imported Decal Holland and called "Fern Valley" original that is 13 1/2" long. Very good condition with just some very thin scratches from silverware use, hard to see unless angled to the light.
