He was also an assistant to David Alfaro Siqueiros, a practice that enriched his future mastery of space and compositions' planning.Apart from the murals, his contributions to theatrical productions were constant, which required specific characteristics that he later maintained in his easel work, such as the use of planes, perspectives, and applications of color to generate lights and shadows.His time in Mexico made him an affiliate of the liberal struggles.
