Large Color-printed map with original color and centerfold as issued. Image size: 19 x 26 inches – Paper size 21.75 x 29.75 inches.This unusually detailed map depicts the state of Virginia with its counties in contrasting colors. Topographical features are very well noted with major towns, cities, mountains, Post Offices, waterways, and railroads identified (with every stop noted). The inset, upper left, depicts the “WESTERN PORTION OF VIRGINIA”. An attractive view of the state as it existed in the 1890’s. This is an original about 125 years old, not a reproduction, and it is in nice condition as shown in the photos. This map comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
