Description: For the Baseball Hobbyist. . . 1976 Kellogg's & Xograph Card | "NORMAL A" variation* #10 - JIM RICE ~ Boston Red Sox | Hall of Fame member *In examining 41 of these second-year/first Kellogg's cards of JIM RICE, we noticed that the "A" in "Allied" (first word in Hall of Famer Rice's biography) was clipped. This card, however, is the Normal A variation and, in our experience, more common. That is, the top of the "A" was missing. Of the 41 cards we have, a dozen of them are of the "Clipped A" variation. This variation is not noted in any guide of which we are aware. In 1970 Kellogg's introduced a very popular series of "Three-Dimensional" (3-D) baseball cards and continued issuing them for more than a dozen years. This particular card pictures Jim Rice of the Boston Red Sox only in his second year of Major League Baseball and adorning his very first Kellogg's card. It measures approximately 2-1/8" by 3-1/4" and makes a nice extra piece to either one's set or team collection. Condition: Near-Mint (no cracks) but curling (as most Kellogg's cards).
